David Siris, a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of California, is a Principal Consultant with UFI.
Siris’s background as a CPA includes seven years of experience as a supervising auditor with The Pun Group, LLP, in Santa Ana, supporting clients including government agencies, counties, cities and special districts. His knowledge base in both single audits and government auditing and accounting includes compliance with the Yellow Book—Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards—and OMB A-133 Compliance Supplement.
After working as a CPA in public accounting for seven years, mainly with governmental agencies, Siris decided he needed a change.
“I had the opportunity to join UFI and work with the CFO of a previous audit client,” says Siris, who joined the UFI team in 2015. “I felt that I had the necessary skill set and experience to provide value-added services to UFI’s clients. I also knew that my abilities as a consultant would be enhanced by the existing team members’ experience in the industry and depth of knowledge.”
During his time as an auditor, Siris helped lead a team to perform and complete past-due audits for the City of Stockton in order for the municipality to complete its bankruptcy/AB 506 process. Recently he has provided overall accounting and support services to the City of Beaumont.
Siris says the most rewarding aspect of working with UFI is the opportunity to support clients as part of an outcome-oriented team.
“I enjoy helping clients with a variety of challenging projects and knowing that I am an integral part of a team that helps them achieve the goals and needs of their organization,” he says.
Siris holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from California State University, Fullerton, and an Accounting Certificate from California State University, Dominguez Hills. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
