Michael P. Busch joined Urban Futures following a successful career in municipal government. Mr. Busch currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the firm and manages day-to-day operations.

Jon Isom

Managing Principal

Jon Isom has worked exclusively with California school and community college districts since he began his career in 1998. During his 12 years in the industry, Jon has worked to successfully implement over 100 bond programs.


Doug Anderson

Managing Principal

Mr. Anderson provides financial advisory and redevelopment implementation services to our clients. He specializes in tax increment and revenue financings, and has provided financial advisory services on over $2 billion of tax exempt and taxable bond financings.

Rex Despain

Managing Principal

Since 1986, Rex Despain has helped scores of districts obtain needed capital. He has participated in a variety of financings, including COPs, GO bonds, Assessment District bonds, Mello-Roos bonds, and TRANs.

Wing-See Fox


Wing-See Fox joins Urban Futures as a Principal after spending two years at Raymond James Public Finance as a Vice President.

Steve Dukett

Managing Principal

Steve Dukett specializes in the planning and implementation of economic and community development, affordable housing, asset management, public facility, public infrastructure financing and grant programs.

Greg Isom

Managing Principal

Greg Isom has worked exclusively with California school districts since 2004. During his ten years, Greg has worked to successfully implement over 100 bond programs totaling over $4 billion in authorization.

Jason List


Jason List has worked primarily with school districts since 2003. Jason has spent his career focusing on finding financial solutions to meet school district capital and operating needs.

Nate McAllister


Nate is in his fifth year working with school districts and has assisted over 50 districts pass school bond and parcel tax measures since 2010. He is currently assisting another 40 school districts with G.O. Bond programs for 2014.

Jim Morris


Jim Morris is the Principal at InCity Consulting, he has twenty years of experience working in the fields of public policy, municipal law, economic development, and public agency governance and leadership.

Janice Peters


Janice Peters, Principal (Walnut Creek) – has worked primarily with school districts since 2005 developing bond programs and facilitating the issuance of bonds. Her focus is on creating sensible programs that meet the needs of her clients and their community.

John Phan


John Phan, Principal, provides financial advisory services to schools, colleges/universities, cities, non-profits and water districts.  John began his public finance career in 2000 as an Underwriter.

Jeff Pickett


Jeff Pickett has worked with California school and community college district since beginning his career in 2000. His experience includes developing financing programs and analyzing financial opportunities for districts.

William Reynolds


William Reynolds has been brought on to the team at Urban Futures, Inc. (UFI) to further expand the pool of experts available to clients. Mr. Reynolds has worked in public finance for more than 40 years.

Kathleen Robles

Sr. Project Manager

Kathleen Robles specializes in economic and community development, project management, roadway design, solid waste management, regulatory compliance, brownfields management, and grant programs.

Russell Sager


Mr. Sager is an analyst in the firm’s Southern California office and provides support to the Finance Department. His duties consist of research and analysis relating to bond issuance, and assisting in the firm’s general operations.

Andy Heath


Andy has over twenty-five years in both city finance and management with expertise in the areas of municipal budgeting and finance, fiscal forecasting, labor relations and operations.

Eric Ja Wong

Eric Ja Wong joined Urban Futures, Inc. in 2018 after three years as an investment banker. He has provided financing and execution support for enterprise revenue, special tax, tax allocation, and general fund bond issuances. Eric earned a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.

Bryan Moore

Prior to joining Isom Advisors in 2016, Bryan worked as an Associate Director at Standard & Poor’s in their State & Local Government Group for seven years. As a municipal bond analyst, he assigned ratings for cities, counties, school districts, water and sewer districts and redevelopment agencies and has a broad understanding of general obligation bonds, lease revenue bonds, certificates of participation, and short-term notes.

Tim Frydendall

Tim Frydendall is an analyst in the firm’s Southern California office and provides support to the Finance Department. His duties consist of research and analysis relating to bond issuance and assisting in the firm’s general operations. Prior to joining Urban Futures, Tim worked for two years as an auditor for a CPA firm in Los Angeles. 

Julio Morales


Mr. Morales specializes on the evaluation of complex financial transactions, including: public-private partnerships (P3s), structured transactions, and municipal contract negotiations, as well as providing investment advice.

Makiko Sato


Makiko Sato has been working with California school districts since 2003 with a focus on planning and implementing responsible and sustainable bond programs.
